Literally moulded into the hillside at Owhanake Bay, each level flows seamlessly into the next. A sweeping stairway links the dramatic entrance directly to the library, and on to the spacious guest lounge and dining area. From the library you can also wander into the central courtyard which features a tropical rock pool and waterfall, a deep, cave-like Jacuzzi, a sauna, health and beauty therapy rooms, and a wine cellar. The courtyard in turn cascades into the striking, Italian-style fireplace and outdoor dining area which is flanked by the lounge and the four luxurious guest suites.

Luxury Suite with Super King Bed Finest Facilities, View of Hauraki Gulf Delamore Lodge has four luxury guest suites, Awatea *dawn*, Motu *island*, Mahana *warm* and Moana *ocean*. Each suite affords guests with total privacy, the finest facilities and, of course, the magical view of the Hauraki Gulf. All north-facing, the suites have been specially designed to maximize your enjoyment of the view. Whether you are relaxing in a plump armchair or on the super-king-size bed, soaking in the bath, or lazing in the sun on your private patio, the sea is always directly before you. Just imagine it. You can watch the sun rise without leaving bed. You can feel a sea breeze on your face while you soak in a hot bath with a glass of chilled Waiheke Chardonnay - just slide open the full-length window - you're almost outside. Directions

The short journey to Waiheke Island is a treat in itself. To reach the lodge guests can choose to fly directly from Auckland International Airport enjoying a stunning aerial view of Auckland city and the Hauraki Gulf. Or alternatively, experience Auckland's harbour and skyline from a great vantage point on the regular ferry service from the downtown ferry terminal.

Food and wine are a celebration on Waiheke Island. Dotted with world-renowned vineyards and olive groves, the island has its own food and wine festival and is home to a growing number of quality restaurants such as Mudbrick Cafe, Vino Vino, Stonyridge Vineyard *lunch only*, and Nourish. Naturally, food and wine are also key features of the Delamore Lodge experience. *Fresh* is the theme for chef Aaron Smith who uses, wherever possible, locally or homegrown produce, the lodge has its own vegetable and herb gardens, and fresh fish and shellfish from the gulf. Gourmet breakfasts are tailored to your individual tastes and can be served in the indoor or outdoor dining areas both with stunning sea views, or in the privacy of your guest suite. Tea, coffee, a selection of seasonal fruit, muffins, pastries and freshly squeezed juices are made available to you throughout the day. In the evening join your hosts and other guests for complimentary pre-dinner drinks and hors doeuvres. Experience fine food at a quality restaurant nearby in Oneroa, take the ferry to Auckland city for dinner, or enjoy an individually-tailored four-course dinner NZ130 dollars per person, plus wine at Delamore Lodge. Waiheke Island is renowned for its diversions from city life. Island life means beaches, golf, horseback riding, arts and crafts shops, bars, cafes, restaurants, world-renowned vineyards and olive-groves. Each Easter there is a hugely popular Jazz festival and in February 2003 the island*s inaugural food and wine festival took place. For water-lovers there is swimming, diving, kayaking, fishing and sailing. And for those willing to leave land and sea behind, why not take a scenic flight or even a tandem paraglide. At the lodge itself you can take a stroll along our own bush walk down to the bay or just laze on your private patio. You can take a dip in the chest-high Jacuzzi, have a sauna, or treat yourself to a massage, beauty therapy, or homeopathy from our in-house therapist.
