Take 101 North, exit Mission to Van Ness, turn right ( which is 101), continue North on Van Ness to North Point street ( do not follow 101 when it turns onto Lombard street, Continue stright on Van Ness). We are located at the Fisherman's Wharf Area in San Francisco, just two blocks away from the sea. Many restaurants and specialty shops are within a few blocks of our motel. We are the only Travelodge in this area. Two cable car end stations are just one block and the other two and a half blocks away. Located only four blocks from the Italian part of town, North Beach, and close to Chinatown, we are central to many attractions. You do not need a car when staying with us. Besides walking, we have excellent bus connections to anywhere you want to go in San Francisco. You can take the bus to downtown, Union Square, the financial district, Golden Gate Park, Haight Ashbury, Palace of Fine Arts, Exploratorium, Civic Center, Japan Center, Moscone Convention Center, Yerba Buena Gardens, CALTRAIN Station, METREON, Symphony Hall, San Francisco Opera House, City Hall, City Library, etc. The list is endless...and the bus stop? It is right next to our Travelodge. If you prefer a taxi, you are looking at only $5 - $10 to get to most attractions. This is nothing compared to what you would have to pay for parking, not to mention the headache involved in finding a parking space or place to park in this city.

Fisherman's Wharf

The history of the wharf goes back to the gold rush era, when Chinese immigrants fished off shore for the hordes of shrimp, oysters and salmon. Italian fishermen followed. They set up family stands along the beach selling crab and other seafood delicacies. You can still find fishermen and their boats along the piers in the early morning hours, but the area has changed into a place full of restaurants, shopping and family attractions. Fisherman's Wharf and San Francisco are famous for clam chowder served in a sourdough bread bowl.

Ghirardelli Square

The Cannery

2801 Leavenworth St San Francisco, CA 415-771-3112 Shops, restaurants and nightclub. Used to be a canning factory. On the third floor you will find the Museum of the City of San Francisco. Only one block from our motel.

Cable Cars

Hyde Street and Bay Street San Francisco Two cable car end stations are conveniently located close to our motel. Bay St turn-around station is one block and Hyde St station is 2.5 blocks from the motel.

Lombard Street

Between Hyde and Leavenworth St "The Crookedest Street in the World" is only 4 blocks from our motel.

Alcatraz

Transportation departs from Pier 41 Operated as a maximum security prison from 1934 to 1963 housing some of America's most notorious felons. This island is also known as "The Rock". 8 min walk from the motel to Pier 41.

Pier 39

North Beach

In North Beach, also known as Little Italy of the West, you can enjoy heavenly Italian foods in many restaurants. It is also a favorite gathering spot for visitors and locals alike. Traditional cafes, Italian delicatessens selling homemade ravioli and bakeries offering tempting pastries line Columbus Avenue. At the heart of North Beach you will find Washington Square and right next to it is the Church of Saints Peter and Paul. Little Italy begins 4 blocks from the motel.

City Lights - Bookstore

Sixteen blocks of Chinese shops and restaurants. Chinatown is 10 - 15 minutes walk away from the motel. By bus directly 5 - 10 minutes.

Golden Gate Bridge

Famous Golden Gate Bridge is 1.2 miles long and offers great views of the city. You can get to the Golden Gate Bridge from the motel in 15 minutes by bus.

Coit Tower

One Telegraph Hill Blvd San Francisco, CA 415-362-0808 Atop Telegraph Hill. Views of the city and bay are even better on top of this 210-foot tower. Inside you'll find a history museum and mural depicting working life in 1930's California. You can walk or take a bus there. Coit Tower is 7-8 blocks from the motel.

Union Square

Geary Street and Stockton Street Shopper's paradise. This landmark is surrounded by designer boutiques and large department stores. The bus will take you directly from the motel to Union Square in 10-15 minutes. You can also catch the cable car.

Fort Mason Center

Embarcadero Center

Modern 5 building complex of offices, fine restaurants, movie theater, Justin Herman Plaza and Skydeck. Located in the heart of the financial district. 30 minute walk from the motel or 8 - 15 minutes by bus.

Golden Gate Park

Among the world's greatest urban parks with several wonderful attractions such as the Asian Art Museum, California Academy of Sciences, Conservatory of Flowers, Japanese Tea Garden, etc. Easy to get to from the motel by bus.
