In the heart of the resort you will find Carvoeiro Clube de Tenis (20 clay and hard courts) and the fitness centre which offer all the facilities you need to improve your general health. Directions

There are busses from FARO to LAGOA taking about 1 hour ten minutes for the journey. Local buses run from LAGOA to Carvoeiro. The bus terminal in Faro is about 5 miles from the airport and as the local bus runs only about once an hour you will probably take a taxi from airport to bus station. Buses (called TRANSRAPIDO) leave FARO weekdays at 8am, 9am, 12.30,2.30, 4.30, 5.30 and 7.30 but on SATURDAYS AND SUNDAYS only the 12.30 and 5.30 buses operate. The fare for that bit of the journey is a mere 4.35. You must buy a ticket at the ticket window inside the bus station. Then from Lagoa you need a local bus the 3 miles or so into Carvoeiro and they run only about every two hours eg at 10am, 12.30 (weekdays only)1.35, 3.25, 5.25 and 6.40 plus one more at 7.10 on weekdays. Thatll cost you another 1.60. Trains from Faro run to Portimao (the station called Lagoa is in the middle of no-where)at highly irregular intervals. Times at www.cp.pt and the fares are about the same as the bus. Carvoeiro is 5 or 6 miles from Portimao. The last train from Faro is at 8.46pm and there is a huge gap with no trains at all in the mornings for about 3 hours.
