| Hotel Basico is a member of Design Hotels. Hotel Basico is located just off 5th avenue, nearby restaurants, shops, a bustling nightlife and only a few steps away from the ocean. Basico is full of colorful detailing, plants and rich texture, which is a reminder of popular Mexican culture. With comfort as the principal element, the whole décor is made of recycled materials, resin, plumbing tubes, and different types of wood, paint, national cottons, rubber tires, plastic, glass and latex. The entrance is through the ground floor bar with a 15 meter high ceiling. The 12 rooms and 3 suites are softly lit for an intimate feel. The "basic" point of the rooms is the multi-use high beds with integrated desk, closet, amenities, refrigerator, and safe, open plan bathrooms and tubs. Fun kits to go to the sea: floating tires, fins and complimentary beach club passes. To instantly please your memory- an amusing white Polaroid camera. Under a huge leafy tree on the first floor patio, guests can enjoy traditional family recipes of fresh local seafood accompanied by handmade tortillas prepared by chefs from the Mexican Gulf. Enjoy a freshly squeezed juice at our very own typical juice bar- "La Jugueria". Bar Azotea on the roof top terrace has two pools, hammocks, cabanas and open views of the Caribbean Ocean. For the night crowd, there are local DJ’s and marimba, or just to sit back and relax one can view tropical films projected on a wall. Basico is a fresh and vibrant property with a concept reminiscent of the glamorous atmosphere of the essential Mexico, casual for young people to enjoy. |
