In the 19th century this part of the country was known as the English Switzerland, and the Peak District is every bit as pretty. Walking in the national park around Matlock is gorgeous. And visit nearby Chatsworth House they have so many treasures, they have hung Rembrandts on back staircases in the past Honestly. The hotel has an Olympic sized outdoor swimming pool which is open from May until October, and an 18th century natural spa which bubbles up from the earth and is therapeutic.
