Opened in 1992 and continually upgraded, The Emerald Hotel is located in the midst of one of Bangkok's busiest commercial and entertainment hubs. Unlike most major cities there is no "central or downtown" Bangkok.. Instead there are three or four different areas of the city which all provide shopping, entertainment and business facilities. The Emerald Hotel is in one of these areas on Rachadapisek Road, locally abbreviated to "Rachada". The hotel is conveniently located within 2 minutes walk from one of Bangkok's new underground (MRT) stations, making it quickly accessible to almost any part of the city. Train journeys ranging from 10- 20 minutes will take you to some of the other well known areas - Sunhumvit & Siam Square. Using the MRT and above ground Sky Train connection you can also easily get to Chaopaya River where river cruise boats depart regularly from underneath the station. Travelling in the opposite direction on the MRT from the hotel you can also directly access Bangkok's famous Weekend Market - Chatuchak.
