Set on its own peninsula, the deluxe all inclusive Elan resort and spa offers guests entering its monumental wrought iron gates an immediate sense of separation from the active bustle of hi-rise Cancun and well as from the fast paced world beyond. A few steps and one is immersed in the traditional 17th century Mexican colonial style village of cobblestone pathways leading to tiled plazas replete with fiery flamboyant trees, cascading flowers and water playing in talavera tiled fountains, reminiscent of the town centers of old. Seven restaurants offering a variety of cuisine will insure satisfaction for the most diverse palates. Guests can start the day off with made-to-order omelets at the open-air La Palapa overlooking Nichupte lagoon or opt for a quick espresso and croissant. Lunch might be fresh grilled huachinango or salads at Emabarcadero or brick oven pizza at the Trattoria. In the evening, guests can choose between the mediterranean fare at Mare Nostrum, asian specialties at Tao, or authentic Mexico fare at Cielito Lindo, Cafe Mystique offers live music and tapas and finger food will be served from 5pm until 12pm. All restaurants offers menus with light selections. A weekly Mexican fiesta at Plaza Santa Cecilia will treat guests to an evening of traditional folkloric entertainment, music, and fine Mexican cuisine. In addition to the bars in the restaurants, the resort also features a swim up bar and a lobby bar.
