The town also plays host to many Festivals, including Llangollen's International Music Eisteddfod, held in July each year and the Jazz Festival held in May. Local fishing rights on the banks of the River Dee offer some of the best trout and salmon fishing in the North West. The Wild Pheasant Hotel is pleased to offer fishing day packages to included fishing rights. The local area offers a whole range of great outdoor activities for visitors to enjoy, including canoeing, climbing and abseiling, country walking leading to the medieval remains of Valle Crucis Abbey or the hill-top ruins of Castell Dinas Bran, cycling, golfing, fishing and white-water rafting to name just a small selection. The Cinnamon Restaurant The Cinnamon Restaurant, recently awarded a rosette for the consistent high standard of it's cuisine and menu selection, is renowned for dishes using both local Welsh lamb and Dee salmon together with local game and Welsh cheeses and seasonal variations, all complemented with a varied wine list offering choices from around the world. The Corn Mill The Corn Mill sits in an enviable position, perched dramatically over the River Dee in the beautiful Welsh town of Llangollen. Its position alone draws people to the pub and restaurant - not only locals but visitors from across Britain and much further a field. The building's history can be traced back at least 700 years. It was tastefully restored with the inclusion of a spectacular decking over the waters that fed the waterwheel and offers a variety of local cuisine. The Wynnstay Arms Located in the beautiful Vale of Llangollen, the 17th Century Coach House is a sanctuary for those who wish to enjoy real ale and good food in a traditional pub atmosphere. Surprisingly spacious the Wynnstay offers a cosy bar with an open log fire, lounge and snug areas, a recently refurbished restaurant, a games room and an enclosed beer garden. Simla Relaxing and friendly Indian Restaurant situated close to the centre of Llangollen. A variety of traditional Indian dishes are served daily and enjoyed by both locals and tourists. The Gallery Cosy and relaxed Italian Restaurant serving a variety of Italian dishes such as pastas, pizza and steaks. Situated just outside of the town centre, only a short walk to the local pubs and shops.
